Poppy Brasserie

Poppy Brasserie

There are four restaurants in the Chateau Lake Louise, but we are going to focus on just one. The Poppy Brasserie is located on the basement floor in the glacier wing. It offers a warm friendly atmosphere, suitable for the whole family or a quiet dinner for two. One of the highlights of eating at the Poppy Brasserie is the breathtaking view. The restaurant looks out to the lake, with a backdrop of glacier and mountains.

The Brasserie is open for breakfast (7:00am - 11:30 am) daily and dinner (6:00pm - 9:00pm) Thursdays to Saturday. Pricing is moderate, dinner for two with drinks will cost you about $100, but considering the hotel and the other restaurant options this is not too bad.

The food was average and the choice did not jump off the menu. I expected the food to be extraordinary. I am not sure if it had to do with the “laid back” attitude of the province, but I found the service to be a tad slower than normal, but nothing was incorrect.
The Chateau Lake Louise is a five-star hotel, and this is why I was hoping for a little more from the Poppy Brasserie. If you are looking to have an average meal before heading over to the Saloon for some evening drinks, this is the place.
